    Frequently asked questions

    Which treatments are covered by dental insurance?

    Every insurance plan is different. It is important to verify the coverage clauses with your insurance company. Usually, between 80 and 90% of basic treatments are covered. Complete removable dentures and partial fixed dentures (crowns and bridges) are usually covered at 50%. We would be happy to send an estimate to your insurance company.

    Will whitening damage my teeth?

    Current scientific studies indicate that it will not. The most common side effects are sensitivity of the teeth and soft tissues during treatment. This sensitivity is temporary and disappears once the whitening treatment is complete.

    When should my child visit the dentist for the first time?

    The Canadian Dental Association recommends that children visit a dentist for the first time at one year of age, or 6 months after their first tooth emerges. At our clinic, we suggest a first visit at around 3 years of age. By visiting the dentist before a problem appears, the child can get familiar with the environment in a relaxed and pleasant circumstance. That way, visiting the dentist will have a positive connotation for the child.
